Smart coat to commute to an office in

Hi, I'm looking for a new coat for work (my current one is around 20 years old from Topshop...). I want it to be smart ish, warm but not too bulky / heavy / padded as the train is warm and I usually take it off - but I am freezing at the station in the morning! Sort of knee length. Ideally water-resistant but that's probably asking for the earth. Bit of space to go over a jacket / thicker jumper if need be. Not wool because too itchy. Maybe trench like but without a belt. Anyone any ideas? thanks.

Oo, yes, I do like that, and it does seem to tick all boxes. Need to consider whether can justify the price...

You could think of how many coats you didn't buy for the last 20 years, and that you've saved up that money for your new coat 🙂

You need wool. It's much warmer than the same weight/thickness of man made fibres because of its structure. It's also water resistant and looks smart.

Most high street chains have reasonably priced wool coats or buy a better brand on vinted.
