A naice tartan skirt for Christmas Day?

I've lost a significant amount of weight and will be 'at goal' for Christmas.

Years ago (many, many) I wore a tartan skirt with black tights and a black polo at Christmas and DH loved it and I would like to wear the same thing again.

However alot of the skirts I've seen on Google are those extremely short, Britney Spears type ones which isn't the vibe I'm going for.
Or very matronly calf length ones which isn't the vibe either!

Anyone seen a nice pleated tartan skirt that won't have my bumchecks hanging out the back please?!

50s style brands like Vivien of Holloway do amazing tartan skirts; circle and pencil shapes. Collectif also have made loads in the past; they are not trading properly right now but you’d get one on eBay no bother. British Retro do dresses with tartan buttons and belts so I’d imagine they do skirts too.

Ps Viv of H do 50s sizing, so check your waist against their website! A 12 is 26inches, which is an 8 now!

I recently bought a nice one from Vinted which was by Hobbs. Shorter than knee length but not a very short mini.

I love that look. It was popular when I was a kid in the late 60s/early 70s.

Is retro the vibe you’re going for? Ive gotten a few skirts from M&S and Tu that seem a decent length (lower then midthigh at 5'5) via Vinted.

Have a look on Next and just search for Tartan Skirt. Or House of Bruar.
