What to wear with bright blue satin kitten heels

I bought them purposely in the summer sales to wear this winter. I have 2 friends birthday parties this month so wanted something not in Christmas colours but jolly.

I held off on the outfits as anything could be trending and obviously the weather could be freezing or not too bad.

First one this weekend in a small casual but posh non chain restaurant. Next one round at a friend's house, been told to dress up.
I'm mid 50's, chunky size 16. Should I re think the shoes 🙁?

What do you want to wear with them?

This green dress has been paired with blue shoes- they're not kitten heels, but kitten heels would work as well.
Sister Jane dress and blue shoes

This has been paired with pink kitten heels but could easily have blue.

Ganni has paired black and blue

As has Stine Goya (ballet pumps rather than kitten heels but kitten heels would work too)

Hmm … Grin No, they actually sound a great choice.

For the restaurant - presumably you don’t possess a vintage Celine / Saint Laurent / McQueen jacket you could wear with some very new grey or pale blue jeans? I’m usually the last person to suggest ‘jeans and’ - but your shoes need neutral, faux casual clothes to highlight them.

The house party command needs a bit more thought …I’d want something plain but devastating in either black or ivory. Maybe like this:

Toteme skirt

@GodRestYouMerryGentlewench I think jeans were in my very vague picture of what would look good. Only my legs are a bit stumpy. All the inspro pictures are long skinny legs. I worry the look of denim and a delicate shoe might emphasise my tree trunk legs.
Cigarette style trousers? Or is that look too done now.
I have blazers!

I love those Sister Jane dresses @IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle . I don't think I coukd pull them off in anything but flats or clumpy heels without looking like I'd raided the dressing up box.

Well Sister Jane's raison d'être is looking like an explosion in the dressing up box so I don't think the type of heels make much difference. But if you feel that way then a plain black dress or skirt is the way to go.

So far as your stumpy legs, I'm guessing you aren't a dachshund? They have stumpy legs, although are undeniably cute.

All the inspro pictures are long skinny legs.

I'm 5'2 or so and a 14 on a good day, 16 on a bad. About half my wardrobe are clothes which if I listened to MN would only look good on a tall, size 8 model. In reality, they look damn fabulous on me.

It was this photo of the writer Yomi Adegoke in The Guardian that first alerted me to the existence of Sister Jane, and I’ve primarily seen the clothes online. Once or twice accidentally in a J. Lewis - who inevitably don’t show the best or most extravagant of the brand. I think the white dress was cotton, though most of their things are synthetic. But I’m really aware of how good they look in photos, so would consider buying a fabulous looking dress for an Event, even if I’m not keen on most of the fabric choices.

I’d agree kitten heels might be a bit much with something like this - but then, sometimes a bit much is exactly the right note to hit.

I bought the green Sister Jane dress for a specific event early next year. Yes, it's polyester but it's a heavy jacquard which hangs well. I don't usually wear heels but I think kitten heels might be the way I'll go.

This thread has reminded me I have a pair of green seude LK Bennett kitten heels I can wear with the green dress.
