Eyes - dark under and bags - any magic cures?!!

Since turning 40 around my eyes has literally ages a million years! I now have really dark circles underneath from by my nose outwards then almost like a bag forming out of this crease. I've always had really smooth skin and now my eyes are so aged!!! I'm also getting deep creases on my nasolabial fold that also really age me.

Any tips tricks products or anything that's helped you? I know I don't get enough quality sleep but I literally look like I've slept in a hedge for 5 years on a morning I look so conked out!

I don't want Botox/filler or anything like that.

No miracle products here, I'm afraid but I came to read hoping for one!
Rubbish, eh?

Concealer can help. Lots of beauty ranges have concealer for dark circles.

I've found concealers can sit or are a little heavy,I was thinking maybe a cc cream or something?

I think facial tanner really helps, I use Tan Luxe drops, I don't mix it with my moisturiser though, I smooth a few drops over my face after moisturising.
I got the REN eye brightening dark circle eye cream in the Liberty Advent Calendar yesterday, so I'm going to see how that helps over the next month!

I have dark circles and always use Benefit Boi-ing industrial strength concealer. It absolutely doesn't crease either. Even though my skin is a light olive, I was recommended No 1 which is 'Fair' and it works perfectly.

I'm 40, I use Beauty of Joseon retinal eye cream (all over my face as well as under the eyes). It's on offer at Superdrug at the moment. I usually buy it via the website Stylevana.

Worth including an spf in your skincare routine if you don't already. I also wear sunglasses a lot to stave off further wrinkles and darkening.

Lancôme Touche Eclat brightens the under eye area . Cucumber slices are an old remedy to reduce the bags .

sandgrown · 07/12/2024 01:23

sorry Touche Eclat is Yves St Laurent not Lancôme !

The reason we get dark circles under eyes from lack of sleep is our liver doesn't have enough time to detox the body. The bags are caused by the kidneys not flushing out toxins as well. Drinking more water helps with both.
Yawning is also an indication of dehydration caused by lack of sleep. Chances are both dark curvles and bags have worsened since the heating has come on in the winter.

I find a bit of fake tan on your face makes a big difference

Only wear colours that suit you

Coffee also seems to reduce my dark circles

It's not botox/filler but it is injectable skin care as a skin booster - Polynucleotides. https://www.harpersbazaar.com/uk/beauty/skincare/a44771531/polynucleotides/
Actually incredible for under eyes. Mine were horrific and paper thin and now the skin is smooth again and the dark hollow bags are gone.

It's the only thing that's made a difference after years of self consciousness and hundreds of pounds on creams

Why polynucleotides are changing the injectables scene

Now you mention it, my under eyes are noticeably darker since the heating has come on!

There's an incentive to switch it off more.

I've gone back to putting cucumber under my eyes in the morning. If you thinly slice 1 slice then cut it half, it will stick to your under eye and you can crack on with morning tasks. I've also been putting extra moisturiser under my eyes at night which has helped a bit.
