Tis this one and it looks better in real life and better on - that picture isn't the best! And we're just having a very low key register office ceremony and no one's really coming, so it's not too OTT, keeping it bohemian ya see.

THing is, dunno what to wear with it in terms of :

legs
shoes
accessories
jacket
bag

and need some serious help!

Am thinking I might just get a very smart pair of maternity jeans to wear underneath (yes, am 6 months pregnant!) as the weather's still a bit cold and not mad about getting my pasty milk bottles out.

Any suggestions?

I wouldn't wear jeans to yr wedding.

How about some swanky swishy elasticated waist trousers?

Or I would actually wear lovely maternity tights in a nice shade to go with dress.

If you're being funky and bohemian how about flat boots?

i wouldn't bother with jacket myself, maybe dres sit up with lovely lacy stitch cardi or even a swishy wrap.

I didn't have a bag at my wedding - can you not get s/one else to carry what you need? Or failing that, get a really pretty jewelled or sequinned little one, sort of thing Accessorise do? Then a lovely long costume jewellery necklace to draw attention to your cleavage and bob's yr wedding?

sophierosie · 29/04/2008 21:30

I'd go for a pair of tights rather than jeans as even though you're having a low key wedding you might want your dh to see you looking a bit more glam if you see what I mean!

How about a bolero cardy thing instead of a jacket - you'd get lots of use out of that too.

Will you need a bag?

Will have a think about shoes...

ladywombling · 29/04/2008 21:31

Hi,

I def would not wear jeans underneath it, how about some stockings/tights if you don't want toget your legs out?

lilyloo · 29/04/2008 21:31

Agree wrap and leggings/tights and boots

margoandjerry · 29/04/2008 21:32

I'd do opaque tights and knee high boots with a heel. Will look lovely.

ladywombling · 29/04/2008 21:33

Boots would work, def, either cropped/shoe boots if you like your legs, or long ones if not. Also def bolero cardi not jacket. You could doe metallic shoes and bag instead, think gold/pewter/silver depending on skintone and preference.

bohemianbint · 29/04/2008 21:36

Aaahh, see, all good ideas - my poor pregnant head just cannot cope with shopping at the moment and I'm getting stressed!

Like the boots idea - any thoughts? Would have to get over pregnant calves mind...

And cardi/wrap, sounds fab - any links?

(am sooooooooo grateful for any help, could do with my own personal Gok at the mo.)

lovely dress.

i had a similar wedding last year (not pg though) and wore dress, ankle boots with heel and purple tights.

sounds ghastly but wasn't or wouldn't have mentioned it. the photos are shockingly bad though, do try to arrange yourself nicely and not gurn. even though it is awfully embarrassing [bitter experience].

TillyScoutsmum · 29/04/2008 21:43

Difficult to see colours very well from the link but lots of wraps and little cardies here

I'd go with opaques and wedges.. Would black work ?

bohemianbint · 29/04/2008 21:47

Cheers fishie - am slightly worried that if I do it wrong it could cross over into frumpy...

And I am the most unphotogenic person alive. I can't help it, as soon as camera points at me, I blink/gurn/look foul. It's an affliction.

OP posts:
bohemianbint · 29/04/2008 21:50

thanks Tilly - there's some lovely tops on that link.

I think the dress is more navy than black though so will have to try to work around that...

bigspender30 · 29/04/2008 21:50

I would do tights and heels and if you think you really need a bag then it has to be plain in colour as the dress is so patterned.A big oversized clutch and big heels would look fab.Congratulations on your wedding by the way!!

bohemianbint · 29/04/2008 21:52

boots like this?

OP posts:
fishie · 29/04/2008 21:54

when it it? bb i must go to bed just now but think we should discuss this more.

bohemianbint · 29/04/2008 21:54

thanks bigspender!

We're having a proper party to celebrate next year, so expect more angst to come.

A week on Thursday, so no pressure! Cheers, I will bump this up again tomorrow.

Clary · 29/04/2008 21:58

Shrug wise I like this one
or this maybe if the colour goes. Nice and simple.

Boots a bit tricky to find @ this time of year...

these are really nice tho, not flat as you see but I have had ones like these before and worn em a lot

Thomcat · 29/04/2008 21:58

bohemianbint, the dress is very nice and all that, but if you wanted options I have some maternity dresses I could lend you? What size are you?

I have (from memory) - a sexy little black strappy dress, looks fab with bright pink sash top and pink/orangied under bust and over bump

a long maxi dress with pink bra top style and pink/orange/white long skirt from monsoon

a green strappy dress with white spots

must have others, just can't think right now.

if you don't need other options then I'd go for navy 3/4 leggings and some wedgy sandals

And have a lovely day

Clary · 29/04/2008 22:06

ooh if we are talking wedgy sandals then I must show you these which I love, Boden I know but they look so nice on the model
(I can't find the pic on the site but there was one in the dogologue showing someone wearing them with smart outfit and how nice they looked.

I'm not going to buy them so I want someone to! In the purple pls.

bohemianbint · 29/04/2008 22:06

Thomcat - bless you, what a lovely offer!

Am a size 14 (at the mo!) in most shops - would it work?

OP posts:
TillyScoutsmum · 29/04/2008 22:07
