Anyone used a personal shopper?

Want to treat myself to a personal shopper for the day for my birthday. Wondered if anyone had used one before? Am in Manchester. I thought about the free John Lewis & Debenhams ones but I think they're just for a specific outfit. I want an entire wardrobe.

I used one in debenhams for wedding, that was a specific outfit. Was great fun though

I used an independent shopper in London, she was fab and I feel like a new person (Andrea at StyleLiberation.com, she is a mum to a one year old herself and great fun to be with). Best to go independent I think then you can mix the high street with more high range and get more for your money. I did a shop one once and though the outfits were nice they were not everyday and cost a small fortune. You could look at tramp2vamp I think they cover all of the country.

Thanks. That's more what I had in mind. How much did you pay? I've looked at the tramp2vamp website but there are no prices! Which leads me to think it's really really expensive.

The Debenhams personal shopper is not just for a specific outfit - when my children were v small so no time for long shopping trips, I went twice a year on the season change and got a whole load of clothes to see me through. It's great, no pressure to buy and you can really make sure that everything "goes" with everything else instead of buying things randomly and getting home to find they go with nothing!! The other benefit I found was that I tried on things I wouln't have looked twice at on the hanger and therefore pushed myself out of the fashion comfort zone. I really recommend it!

I have done the topshop stype advisor service a few times, which is fun. A friend now goes to selfridges twice a year and uses one of their personal shoppers and thinks they are fantastic. She goes back to the same person each time now, so he knows her taste, size, etc.

Thanks. I have booked a Debenhams personal shopper for next Sunday! I like a lot of the concessions in Debenhams so hoping to get some nice new trendy clothes for the summer. If it goes really well I'll do it again for the autumn.
