Can I wear the same dress three times?

Works Xmas do coming up, and I can't find anything I want to wear. 2 vinted fails and 2 new purchase fails. I'm fed up of looking and to be honest I don't really want to part with my money for one night.

So, would I be unreasonable to wear the same dress as I wore to the Xmas do in 2021 and 2022 (I didn't go last year).

No one will remember or care, will they?

I don't have anything else suitable and I'm feeling a bit rubbish about myself (peri meno belly)

I'm at the point of not wanting to go, but it will be frowned upon after I've already said I would.

Wear what you feel happy & confident in...if you want to look a bit different in the same dress how about different accessories/jewellery, a shawl, cardigan etc....
Just a quick observation, I might be wrong, but you mentioned wearing the dress to Xmas party 2021, wasn't that Lockdown? I might be wrong 🤔
Just have a lovely time & I'm sure you will look beautiful 😊

Seriously, no one cares what you wear except you, and they forget it in a blink of an eye, so just be yourself.

And here I am stressing over sending out the same Christmas cards as I did last year as I have enough left in the box, and I don't want to buy any more!

Sadly, OP, no one will notice. And it's a bit disappointing and also a huge relief that they don't. Wear your frock with style!

Send the cards! Even if they remember, nobody is going to care... and if they do care, it says more about them than you. Same logic applies to the dress. 😊

Of course, it's your freedom.

I wouldn't especially having worn it two years in a row. Why not sell it on Vinted and buy something new out of the sale?

If you like the way you look in it, wear it. What does it matter if people remember? Why spend money on something new you might not like as much?

I have a few dressy outfits that I love. I wear them on rotation to parties/weddings/cruises etc. Sometimes people remember, mostly they don't. They just know if you look nice or not.

Friends do occasionally comment "Oh, I love that dress' in a tone that implies they remember seeing it before but it always sounds sincere not bitchy. Acquaintances probably don't even remember.

I've had a beautiful silk jumpsuit made for my son's upcoming wedding. It's absolutely lovely and I will be wearing it as frequently as I can after the wedding until it wears out or goes out of style. If people remember it it will be because it's so gorgeous and I can live with that.

I have precisely one dress that is suitable for black tie do's. So it gets worn for all of them. I am not that social but it has been worn about three times so far.

Much more eco-friendly to wear the same dress several times!

2020 was lockdown, 2021 I think depended on when your Christmas party was! I think I went to mine, but my DH's was postponed until the January.
