Hot brush or air styler for short hair

My DM has asked for a styling tool for Christmas. She has very short hair that she usually dries with a round brush to give it a bit of volume. I've tried to Google styling tools for short hair, but everything looks too big, and even those marketed as being suitable for short hair seem to have a barrel that's too big.
Can anyone recommend a tool that might work - an air styler or hot brush?Looking for something fairly lightweight and easy to use (she's in her late 70s).
Budget up to £100. Thanks for any ideas.....

Would a travel hot brush work?
Loads of styles but smaller & lighter than traditional hot brush things?

@dryshampooer Would a mini straightener work? About the size of your hand really light weight but really work.
I'm not a great hair person as mines either buzzed off or short

My hair is a bit shorter than that and a hot air styler would be far too big to use on it. Being a bit lazy, I usually put some volumising spray or mousse on it, brush it into shape then leave to dry naturally. Once it’s dry, I add a bit of volume with my micro straightening irons and finish off with volumising powder.

Ah right it's very short and tightly curled?

Not sure what would work on that as most a smoothing or volumising To be fair the large barrel do more on most short hair like a miracle

I'm just not sure about the curls!

I know there are some with 3/4" barrel. I'm in Canada so may get different brands, but Conair has one on amazon.
