Favourite earings for a 50th?

I am about to turn 50 and also get my ears pierced! DH really wants to get me some earrings but I have no idea what to suggest. What are your favourites?

My favourites are some small diamond studs my dh bought me.

Same - DH bought me a pair of plain diamond studs the first Christmas we were dating and I've worn them almost every day since.

Are you looking for earrings to have your ears pierced with? You might want to take advice from the salon doing the piercing. You normally have to leave the earrings used for the piercing in for 6-8 weeks initially.

Surely it depends on your budget and style (stones, studs, hoops etc). I have diamond studs but haven't worn them for years. I bought these from Liberty a couple of years ago, and I wear them all the time.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads That's good point. I guess I am looking for something to have in for the 6 weeks and then something elegant for after that.

I like the idea of hoops. I think DH wants to get me something special so up £1000 for one of the pairs and much less for the others.

Presuming you are going to a proper piercer and not a retail accessory store they will have a selection of piercing studs to use at first

I would go for a mid size pair of beautiful, simple, gold hoops. Some of them can be really hard to put in though. I can never manage the ones that thread into each other. I'm hoping for a pair this Christmas with a butterfly back to them. Enjoy your birthday!
