In what order should I use these products?

Help. I have various new products and I’m getting confused as to how to best use them together. Can anyone knowledgeable assist in helping me to create a beauty routine.

Cosrx snail mucin
medik8 retinal level 6
liquid gold
augustinus bader The Light moisturiser
revitalash
prai 24k gold night cream
nuxe reve de miel face balm
emma hardy cleansing balm

Im 50. Starting to get some fine lines around my eyes. Skin is generally tough (for a while I used nail varnish remover as a toner as a teen…).

May I ask what led you to buy all these products?

user9086572 · 25/11/2024 20:16

They’re not all “new”. They are new as in unused and I want to start using them. Mixture of gifts, beauty calendar stuff etc. I did buy the medic8 and the revitalash

So the order in which to use products is:

Cleanse
Exfoliate
Mask
Toner
Serum/treatment
Moisturiser

However some products will not go together and I am not a fan of using lots of different brands.

Personally I would say using all of these products together would be too much.

I wouldn’t imagine you’d use all those each day and I don’t recognise some - but I do know about Revitalash and that needs to go on clean, dry eyes. Paint it right along the upper lash line.

It doesn’t work if you ‘block’ it with make up, eye cream, moisturiser etc (not that you would put cream on your eyelids, too sting-y!)

Out of interest I asked ChatGPT. The suggestion was:

Here’s a beauty routine tailored to your skin's needs and the products you have:

Morning Routine

  1. *Cleanse: Use the Emma Hardy Cleansing Balm* to remove impurities gently.
  2. *Hydrate: Apply Cosrx Snail Mucin* to damp skin. This will help hydrate and repair your skin barrier.
  3. *Target Fine Lines*: Introduce a gentle eye serum or cream for fine lines if you have one. Otherwise, keep the area hydrated with a touch of snail mucin.
  4. *Moisturise: Use Augustinus Bader The Light Moisturiser* for lightweight hydration.
  5. *Protect*: Finish with a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher (not in your list but crucial!).

Evening Routine

  1. *Double Cleanse*:
- First cleanse with the Emma Hardy Cleansing Balm to remove makeup and sunscreen. - Follow with a gentle cleanser if needed.
  1. *Exfoliate (2-3 times a week): Use Liquid Gold* as a chemical exfoliant. Skip this on nights you use retinal.
  2. *Retinal (3-4 times a week): Apply the Medik8 Retinal Level 6*. Use only a pea-sized amount to avoid irritation.
  3. *Eye Care: Apply Revitalash* to your lash line as directed (not for under-eye skin).
  4. *Night Moisturiser*:
- Alternate between Prai 24k Gold Night Cream (luxurious hydration) and Nuxe Reve de Miel Face Balm (nourishing and soothing).

Weekly Treatments

  • Add a hydrating mask if your skin feels tight or dry.

Tips

  • *Patch Test*: If new to retinal or Liquid Gold, test for sensitivity first.
  • *Retinal vs. Liquid Gold*: Don’t use them on the same night to avoid over-exfoliation.
  • *SPF*: Always wear sunscreen during the day when using retinal or exfoliating acids to prevent sun damage.

What a great idea

Gosh I’d never have thought of doing that, thank you

Woah! That is pretty amazing @Iseethesilverlining. I didn’t realise ChatGPT could do things like this.
