I’d like to buy DS, late twenties, a luxury present.
I’m out of the loop, DD says Arcteryx or a cashmere half zip but I’m hoping for more inspiration?
He tubes/ busses or cycles to work in the summer.

What's your budget? What were you thinking of getting from Arc'teryx? Their stuff is technical and spendy.

Merino is cheaper and harder wearing than cashmere.
I no longer work in the City. Hybrid in a trendy part of London now and it's all smart casual.

@KirstenBlest thanks. DD tells me an Arcteryx sleeveless vest is a thing? He mostly gets the bus to EC1, not climbing the Eiger so not sure technical is key!
He does mostly seem to do business casual with a suit & tie for clients.
Budget is healthy for something that will last and a big treat.

Damiano Puffer Gilet Cashmere - Storm System® Navy Blue | Loro Piana GB

I like the gilets from other companies (North Face is a bit 'JD Sports', but Patagonia, Haglofs etc are good), but your DD will know better than me.

Toastforlunchthen · 23/11/2024 18:02

Thank you so much. The first two look great, the Loro Piana can wait until he’s Chairman!
Interesting about North Face, worth me asking because it my day it was The Thing.

You said luxury Grin
Brands IMO become popular and end up doing fashion and technical.
I have a suspicion that TNF, Asics etc have stuff for the fashion and outdoorsy crowds.
You might get something from such a brand from Spots Direct but it will be not the same quality as the £££ item by the brand from a specialist shop.
