60 and just had some fillers “smokers “ lines

never had Botox/fillers.
Aged 60 and just had some filler in lines above my lip… never smoked a single ciggy.
Wanted to age gracefully, have always cared for my skin but lines really bugged me.
Am just so delighted!

Are you very pleased with the results? Is there a noticeable difference? Good for you. I'm sure I'll consider it in the future.

Love this for you! I want to do the same! Did it hurt? How much did it cost you? I've been fortunate in that I've got to middle age with fairly smooth skin but a couple of lines could do with some plumping.

It was expensive.. (£350) but happy to pay for a dr with good experience and right qualifications.. she was just lovely. It is noticeable to me .. vastly improved.
it feels like a real treat and will probably last a couple years.
it stung but she used lots numbing cream and I am a wimp but the dental hygienist is a lot worse 🤣🤣
I am so delighted!

This is fantastic! Well worth the investment! I'm saving to have mine done but it will take a while so I love reading stories like this. So pleased for you!

Are you brave enough to share before & after pics? I’m scared to try this so would love to see the results

LunaTheCat · 22/11/2024 22:35

I didn’t take any pics but dr did.
Still a wee bit bruising but can cover easily tinted moisturiser.
I am really glad I went to a doctor… the sector is not well regulated.
It feels like a perfect secret ( apart from telling Mumsnet 😂😂)

Good for you! I have similar lines. I’m interested in what filler they used. Would Botox also help the area, like easing the movement there to stop wrinkles?

TwoeightTwoeightTwoOhhhh · 23/11/2024 07:30

I tried Botox there and it did nothing for me. There were 2 days when my lips didn’t move as much and I couldn’t whistle for the cat. But then 100% back to normal with no change to my wrinkles 😞 (and the cat knows when it’s time to come home as normal!)

TwoeightTwoeightTwoOhhhh · 23/11/2024 07:32

To be fair, the Lady who did it did warn me it probably wouldn’t work and that filler was the best way to go. I wanted to try it first and it was an expensive way to confirm that she was right

Justleaveitblankthen · 23/11/2024 08:44

They always call them 'smoker's lines' when really they are often caused by pursing your lips for years.

I even wake up with this expression 😂

Happy to see a positive post about filler. Mums net is so against (uninformed about) filler

LunaTheCat · 23/11/2024 10:09

I was told I would be lucky if Botox lasted 6 weeks.. I also play woodwind so that would be impossible with Botox.
