Aussie mumsnetters- semi formal wedding what to wear!

I’ve been invited to a relatives wedding in Aus (in June!) and need an outfit. Wedding is 1-3 and then 6- late which isn’t common in UK maybe an Australia thing? Which is absolutely fine obviously but dress code is semi formal. Would you wear the same thing for the day and evening (day is in a modern church and evening in a venue) or change? And what would semi formal look like? I’ve got a nice sequinned t shirt I was thinking of wearing tucked into a satin midi skirt would that be ok?

Ok, I’m going out on a limb here, but my interpretation as someone in Aus is that you would wear posh but church appropriate clothes to the service, but then glam up a bit for the night time celebrations. Couples here tend to get married and then go to a photo location and then meet again for the dinner and party.
Depending on where you are in Australia, you could be dying from heat exhaustion during the day, but pretty cold come nighttime, so you either need a versatile outfit with a standby thick cardigan, or two separate outfits. It all depends on how close your hotel is to the venue.
Aussie fashion tends to be less detail oriented than UK fashion however, for example you can get away with a decent outfit and skip the hat or fascinator (or whatever those head things are).
