Hi, I’m hoping someone out there can help me find a black jumper for my mum’s Christmas present. I know that sounds like a fairly simple ask, but she has some quite specific requirements.
- She can’t wear wool or wool blends, even cashmere makes her itch. Her preferred fabric is chenille but there don’t seem to be a lot of chenille jumpers around at the moment.
- She can’t bear the feel of anything around her neck, so anything with a tight or high neckline is out.
- Stylewise, she would prefer something chunky and a bit loose fitting, rather than tight, and hip length rather than waist length. She is 87, between 5’5” and 5’6” (she’s shrunk a bit over the years so I’m not sure exactly) and a size 14. She isn’t remotely interested in being trendy and doesn’t want anything overly fussy.
We’ve had a look round Cribbs Causway shopping mall (John Lewis, M&S and a lot of the usual high street brands) and I’ve been browsing the internet, but so far no joy. I did find a lovely, simple black sweater in Albaray today, but it does have some wool and cashmere in, which I think she’d find itchy. (And then I got totally distracted and bought the bergundy version for myself! 🤦🏻♀️🤣) My budget is up to £60. Please help me find something that fits the bill.
