I have been trying to give my wardrobe (particularly work clothes) an overhaul. It’s been a challenge (see my many threads) with some wins but also some bad buys.

for some reason I sometimes really want something to work so convince myself that it does, against my better judgement

most recently a pair of black trousers from Uniqlo on sale. I even paid extra to have them taken up! Wore today to work and felt so terrible in them. There is just too much fabric around the hip area. Extra bad when I am sitting down! Will never wear them again.

bought some boots on vinted - Boden boots made in Spain / look lovely but leather is so stiff they are incredibly uncomfortable.

Bought a £200 dress in the sale and really wanted it because it was beautiful quality. Never wore it as there was too much material and it made me look huge. I still feel guilty. Have also had this happen with less expensive items
i now try to rely on my first impression. If I absolutely love it on first try, I’ll probably love it. I do try it on over the next few days as well just to be sure. If it’s not quite right on first impression, it’s never right

@DGPP that is so true - you usually know straight away whether in item is right in every way. I know this - but sometimes I just ignore that rule and then kick myself!!!!
