If so, do you think they look nice? Particularly if you are not tall ?

Yes! I’m 5 foot 4 and absolutely love the look of them. I saw them on Emma Paton Instagram.

Having said that, my waist is 28 inches, my hips are 35 inches, and the size 6 is still marginally too big on me. Which is insane. I’m absolutely not a size 6. I also needed to get the short ones. Bought them on eBay for about £90.

@DrRichardWebber thank you. I found some for sale in a size 8 but based on what you have said they may be too big… I usually wear size 26 jeans and my waist is 68/69 cm.

I have a pair of size 8 as well and honestly find them too baggy. They just about fit but slip right down. M&S sizing is so variable though so you never know. I’ll measure the waist for you on the 8’s when I’m done putting kids to bed.

Thank you @DrRichardWebber !!!!

I have and I love them. Not a style I normally wear but they look great.

Am 5ft 4, and a 24 or 25 waist in jeans. I wanted these to sit really low and be really loose, so the 8 regular was more suitable than the 6. I didn't buy in the end.

@bunnybunnybunnybunny thanks

i tried some on in whistles in my usual size - 26 - and they were very snug! The seemed expensive and I didn’t love the fabric so I didn’t bother trying on the next size.

After trying on about 10 pairs in different more expensive shops I walked past Next and saw these.
I tried them on thinking- why am I bothering !!! Well they have not been off !
I am a size 10 and bought these in a 10. They are a very good fit and not too tight ( I know
next is generally abit bigger in their sizing!)
i tired the 8 but wanted more relaxed fit .

I immediately ordered them again .

@Notcontent They're expensive for what they are, particularly as they're going to date so quickly. The fact people are paying £90 for them blows my mind. Also, and to be honest (and no disrespect to those who have bought them), the jeans made me feel properly middle-aged and clueless.

I bought a pair of Whistles original barrel legs in 2017. Never wore them as the fit was off. Sold them off a few years ago!

Hmm - still mulling them over….

Next is a good tip - at least they do petite sizing.

@Notcontent I also have the Whistles barrel leg and much prefer the M&S ones.

The perfect jeans is always a difficult hunt though.

I'm a 12 in "normal" shops (Reiss Mint Velvet Whistles etc)
I have the SM jeans in a 10L - inside leg is 27" (also had the 10R which is 25")

I'm 5ft8
And they are on the edge of being too short and they are probably going to go baggy round the waist

So yes I'd say the size 6's will probably be too big on you unfortunately

M&S sizing is crazy - I have pairs of size 8 chinos FGS - no way my bum is a size 8!
