What to wear for festive drinks in yours 40s?

Realised that I have no easy outfits to wear for any festive drinks/outings over the coming month. Feel very stuck in a rut. What do mums in their 40s wear to go out if you live in London? Am petite size 6, with a penchant for black and urban. My go to used to be jumpsuits but I think those are now out. What is everyone planning as their festive outfits?

Leather mini or sequin mini with tights and boots are my plan for the festive season!

Mini skirts are not for my legs but there are some lovely sequined bolero type things in the shops with a big bow on the front. Could wear with a skirt and heels or more casual with jeans and boots.

Why? You are only in your 40's (as am I!) I don't think we're quite ready for a twin set and pearls quite yet 😉
A nice mini with thick black tights and some decent boots is a great combo, especially with a gorgeous, thin knit jumper.

Maybe you are right. I think that I do sort of feel old or in an in between period of my life. I dont feel old old but very conscious of not trying to dress too young. But it seems that I literally don't have anything to wear that's even a bit festive or going out.
