It is the 3rd year I ask S&B to help me with a coat. Third time lucky?

Every winter is the same. I can’t find a nice coat.
I have one navy puffa from uniqlo, one green puffa from Sainsburys, one grey acrylic from Moonson - that is it

I’m looking for a quality coat with a good ammount of wool so it is warm and cozy.

I need it not to be too long and to not look too oversized

I like pockets and prefer something I can close around my neck

I think black will be preferable

Anyone seen / bought anything lately?

Flexible budget but I will draw a line at 500

These are a bit over £500 but you could continue buying puffas you don't like or stretch to something like this.

Max Mara 1
Max Mara 2

These are probably too long/ too oversized but it's a terrific brand selling clothes made in the UK.

I was looking for something similar with a similar budget lately but then ended up getting a black Lipsy coat in the Next sale and I’m in love. Not a huge amount of wool in the blend, but very cosy. I get so many compliments on it. Very flattering and a good length without feeling too weighty.

The one I bought appears to have sold out, but this is similar.

How about this one from Reiss black, 80% wool, high neck, not too long …

Has never been a go to for anything else for me, but Ted Baker do great coats. If this one is too long, I’d look on Vinted for a shorter version (they have done various lengths, although they’re obviously very restricted this year).

Are those weird white bits zips?!

It’s silver coloured metal on the end of belt and collar

Thank you
I know the lapel on Max Mara 1 doesn't suit me and they don't have black

I like the look of Max Mara 2 but if I'm gonna drop that kind of money on a coat I'd need something more versatile - also brown tones don;t suit me either

Beautiful. Thank you. But those coats with a belt - I make them look like dressing gowns, doesn't matter how wonderful they are - it's me

That is the style I like - added to the bag!

I remember buying and returning coats from Reiss last year but it was not this one - not sure what was the issue
