Which dress for Christmas drinks party?

Evening do. Smart casual, jackets and shirts for men, frocks or tailored trousers for women.

I have a clingy black dress which is a quite low cut wraparound dress but I’ve got menopausal tummy and I feel a bit self conscious about it.

The alternative dress is a floaty blue flowery summer dress which I love but it might be too beachy for Christmas.

I don’t have anything to put over the black dress and as it isn’t satin nor sequiny then a jumper o we the top wouldn’t suit it either.

WWYD? Black crock which would be perfect if I was a size smaller or Bondi Beach? A new dress isn’t an option this year.

Black dress for sure. Maybe something glitzy on your neck to draw attention away from your belly?

I have a big belly and love a wrap style dress it's usually very flattering so I think you'd be ok.

Shapewear all in one will also do wonders!

I would go for the black dress - floaty summer dress doesn't seem appropriate. Could you wear the black dress with shape underwear? I wasn't sure what you meant about a jumper wouldn't work since the dress isn't satin or sequinny? Would the something over the top be because of cold or to hide your tummy? If the former, could you wear a thermal vest underneath?

People round here wear cashmere or mohair slouchy jumpers over satin skirts like this.

Posted too soon. This particular dress wouldn’t suit a jumper.

Shapewear looks like the answer.

If those are your two options I would go with the black.

Hardly anyone notices what other people wear, I couldn’t tell you what my colleagues wore to the last Christmas party. Wear your dress and hope you have fun
