Winter wedding (not too dressy)

Hello, I have a wedding to attend in January. I had planned to wear a nice green velvet dress I have but it is quite "evening" and will be too formal.

Context - it's SILs second marriage and they've hired a room for a few hours so it's not going to be a full formal affair. Any suggestions on some good winter options that aren't too dressy but still tick the wedding box.

I do have a nice mink colour midi dress with sequins on the top that could work but not sure if that's more of a summer kind of colour.

Size 12/14, 5ft 6 if that helps. Budget up to about 100quid.

I’ve gotta say, I went to a wedding at the end of October and I found it almost impossible to find something nice to wear. Summer stuff looked wrong and then he went to stuff that was in the shops was bloody sequins.

Can you narrow it down a bit? Can we see what the dress you think is too formal is like? There are lots of nice velvet dresses that aren't too formal IMO, but I don't know if you'd think they're too similar to what you already have. For example

Ooh you guys are quick off the mark. Thanks for the suggestions. I'm wondering if I try and find a nice top as I have a silver pleated midi skirt that could work.

Would that be with a silver lace top maybe? I need to avoid white but maybe black could work too.

I am hoping to try and work with something I'll wear again but it's tricky for a wedding.
