Where to buy a special necklace for wedding day?

Hi all,

My wedding dress is strapless so I'm looking for a necklace to go with it. I hardly ever wear jewellery so I'm happy to invest in something special/quality which can be a go-to piece for years to come. I know nothing about jewellery so I'm looking for brand/shop recommendations - ideally something classic and timeless rather than super glitzy. Thanks!

My now DH bought me a lovely sapphire and diamond necklace for our wedding day (7 weeks ago) He got it from an independent jewellers in Edinburgh.

You might be better looking in independant stores.

This is mine (he had got me a bracelet for my 40th the year before which matches from paragons jewellers Not sure he did it on purpose or thought that far ahead.

I think he paid about £900 for the necklace

is very well known and established, so I’d be inclined to look there first then compare with any other places you’re recommended.

I was going to say MiKimoto, someone mentioned it on another thread and it's well out of my price range but they have some lovely modern pearl necklaces.

I wish I’d bought a lovely string of pearls for mine! I did wear pearls but they were my “something borrowed” from my mum. I’ve only got to wait twenty more years for our pearl anniversary now though 😅

If you have the wedge try Hatton Garden in London. Thete are some lovely jewellers in Richmond, Surrey too. Lily & Roo have nice pearls. For a total investment try Tiffany or Chaumet (I adore Chaumet tiaras and necklaces, but sadly never have the spare cash to buy any 🤣😭).
