My company is celebrating a milestone this year and will be having a very fancy Christmas party as part of the celebration. Dress code is cocktail Attire but I have no idea what this means.
I was planning on wearing a blue knee length dress that I have worn to a few weddings but after a conversation with colleagues today I get the impression that the dress isn't suitable.
I know nothing about fashion so can anyone help me understand what cocktail Attire means and offer some suggestions of places to look for dresses. I am tall, size 12 looking for something that isn't going to cling to all the chubby bits.
Probably only going to wear the dress this once so not wanting to spend too much money. Open to renting but it would have to be somewhere I can try the dress on first rather than ordering online.
