what style every day handbag for casual use ?

I'm 50. Use will be for popping to the shops, running around town etc. Nothing formal. I want to look elegant. Either black or white. Doesn't need to be too big, just keys, purse etc.

I love an across the body bag for everyday use. Leaves your hands free for running errands etc.

I have last season's version of this crossbody messenger bag £32 from River Island- they do plain black as well. It fits lots in it.
