Top to go with silver small sequin trousers?

I have just bought some flares with small silver sequins on them. What are the best sorts of tops to go with them when going out? I am Size 16 and 5 ft 7 and in my early 50s.

I'm wearing this grey white tipped M&S cashmere cardigan - partially unbuttoned over a cream low cut silk camisole with silver wash wide leg jeans.

That is a lovely cashmere top and would go well. I was also looking for more of a
Top for going out that won't make me too hot and sweaty. Some sort of blouse or shirt maybe

As the trousers are such a statement piece, I'd go for as plain (black) too as possible.
The plain top would give the trousers more emphasis.
You could then perhaps add a standout necklace...
So you would end up with a "sandwich" of fancy then plain then fancy... oh an plain black heel's to finish.

Something that sits at the waist like this ( I wear buttoned up cardis instead of jumpers,) don't go too long as the sequins can damage the top's fabric.

Shops just now are awash with sequins….ive read that almost all sequins aren’t
biodegradable & sit in landfills for long after we’ve gone!
These garments are usually worn only a handful of times at most…don’t think I’ll be buying anything sequined again.

Well the op has said they're flares...
So I'm assuming they're not leggings.
Lots of silver sequins around with grey cashmere at the moment. My Instagram feed is full of it.
But perhaps not so flattering if you want to cover up your bum.
