Trendy purse for 16 year old

Hi, I'd like to get dd a nice small and compact purse for her birthday and am willing to splash out a small bit. What's nice looking and trendy atm? I'd like this to be a surprise so don't wan to ask her.

Does she use a purse? I hardly take mine with me anymore - just phone and Apple Pay!

I don't know any teens that use a purse. Phone and ID tucked in the back of it. A few have a handbag (or even manbag) but haven't seen any purses.

Following because I have 3 teen girls who all need new purses. They definitely do need them because as well as their bank cards they have bus cards, a couple of points cards for shops and eldest has her driving licence. They also do usually have a small amount of cash on them (usually less than £5). They’ve all had ones from Oliver Bonas before which have lasted years but they have all started to wear out at the same time - not bad really because they’ve had them for 4/5 years and not really looked after them as they’ve been shoved into bags and pockets etc. We looked in OB yesterday but they were all quite spendy so looking for an alternative

That's exactly what dd uses her purse for too @TamiTaylorIsMyParentingGuru . DD still has my very old FatFace purse, but it's falling apart.

Being a bit more grown up and all I looked into a small LV purse but was taken aback at how much they cost. Oliver Bonas is a good shout too, I'll have a look.

I have a nice little card wallet/purse form & Other Stories. My DD has one too. It takes a few cards and has a zipped bit for coins. I use it if I don't want just my phone with me.

I bought mine a raplh Lauren purse from John Lewis. It's very nice and compact and came in a lovely box. She doesn't use it all the time as she uses her phone, but when she needs one it's useful to have

I would look in TK Maxx - have had some lovely ones from there over the years.

I wouldn't spend the money on something like LV. Nor would I go for Oliver Bonas for a younger person. They have nice stuff but it's not aimed at that market.

I'd maybe go for something like Valentino or Ted Baker, Moschino or Marc Jacobs.

Avoid Michael Kors, Kate Spade or Radley. They're considered naff

It's nice. DD like LR. Their clothing is beyond our budget but a purse could work well.

@ApolloandDaphne the Other Stories purses also look good.

Anything from Coach? Their handbags are popular with my DD and her friends.

Card holders are probably better than big purses now I think? Accessorize normally have nice ones but that's probably below budget!

Have a look at Katie Loxton. They have a nice selection in various colours and you can have it personalised with her initials. Also comes in a lovely personalised gift bag.

I bought mine in TKMaxx, it's not a known brand but when I googled it they make for quite a few higher end brands. I must have had if for 4 years now.

This brand is very popular with younger people. This one is like a purse with a detachable chain so can also be worn as a bag. They do leather as well - this is suede.
