bethoo · 25/04/2008 20:42

wrap over dresses or the empire lines are good though not seen any yet though debenhams might. where i ma there are not many maternity places

mazzystar · 25/04/2008 20:44

these are worth getting knocked up for, and you can sell them on ebay afterwards

FrannyandZooey · 25/04/2008 20:47

har har at the first one coming in size 10 or size 12
yeah right

MrsBadger · 25/04/2008 20:59

dresses are hard imo

I lumbered wafted about in linen trous and non-mat kaftan tops

Those LuluSapphire ones are lovely.....

Disenchanted - on the School run dress thread earlier this week, every single one of us expectant mums went and ordered one of these skirts - they're only 6 quid!!!

Disenchanted · 25/04/2008 22:14

I can't do miniskirts!

I agree with Mrs Badger when you are heavily preg dresses look tent like - much easier to do separates as there are lots of empire line tuic style tops around you don't have to be restricted to Mat wear either, linen trousers or 3/4 jeans are good to dress up or down then.

I have seen a worrying amount of mini skirts in the H%M and Topshop maternity ranges their is more material in the belly-hugging band than the skirt bit - eeek That is for yer young mum with stick legs I think. I am far too over t'hill for those shenanigans!!

bigmouthstrikesagain · 25/04/2008 22:27

Cripes terrible spelling and grammar there I apologise!

mazzystar · 25/04/2008 22:34

I actually found dresses quite easy - so long as they hug under the bump rather than hang straight down from it. Gap are stocking maternity wear this summer, they must have something nice there. I also bought some stuff by Ghost - secondhand or seconds from ebay bias cut is a govd shape for a pg body so long as you are not also a pearshape.

MrsBadger · 26/04/2008 08:15

ah, I am a pear
much harder

How about empire line dresses, like this one www.everydaymaternity.com/tie-back-dress-p-248.html

Or this fab red one www.everydaymaternity.com/red-ruffle-dress-p-211.html

I preferred dresses, as there were no clingy waste bands, but beware on wrap dresses, you may need a vest underneath, unless you are brave.
