My hairdresser has recommended goldwell products as I seem to constantly have an itchy scalp - can't find them anywhere and the hairdresser has gone on hols for 5 weeks - anyone used them? are they any good or do you have any other suggestions

is it itchy because you are sensitve to ingredients in normal shampoos?

It might be worth trying an organic shampoo with no SLS or parabens in to see if it's that. have you got a health shop near you, or waitrose seem to now stock a good range.

Hi
It seems to be itchy no matter what I use - I have used Aveda products and now have an organic shampoo

Have you tried Nizorel (sp) it's fab - I use it once a month & it is wonderful (but it itches when I put it on)

do you use other products in your hair like moose or gel - it could be that, or even your washing powder or fabric softner on your pillow case.

Nizoral is definitely worth a shot - I also use it about once a month to keep the itch at bay (KatyMac - it does indeed itch when you put it on!). Your GP can prescribe it - but you can also buy it in Boots.

I then switched to Simple shampoo & conditioner and while my hair smells of just hair I didn't have an itchy head!!!

Ditch teh Aveda and see if it helps - I had to forgoe all products for while (it killed me) just to get my head back in order!

oooooh that is a radical idea meep - I have pretty high maintenance hair and rely on my products to tame my wild irish hair
