facials - should you or should you not have one same day as a big evening out?

Is it a myth that you should leave a few days between a facial and wanting to look good?

Despite being in my forties, I have only every had one facial in my life, and that was years ago. So I am consulting the Oracle(s).

I've received an offer from Clarins (my beauty counter of choice) for a facial and am going for the 'firming' one. If I book it for the same day I have a 'do' in the evening, will I look blotchy, or will I be glowing from the results?

If it's a firming one you should be fine.

no, they always bring out the rubbish in your skin so needs to be left for a few days.

I think a firming one will be fine, it's deep cleansing ones that bring out the impurities. I would assume a firming one would be like applying beauty flash balm but better.

Thanks, everyone.

Think I'll do it 2 days ahead based on this feedback. Will report back!
