Got my eye test tomorrow so silk be choosing new frames. Does anyone know what is “in” at the moment?

Whatever suits your face.
No point getting what's " in" if they don't suit you.

dementedpixie · 28/10/2024 20:57

I agree that you choose the frame that flatters your face

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 28/10/2024 21:08

I have a round face with chubby cheeks so know to avoid round and over large frames,

Just looking for some ideas as I will be wearing them everyday for the next two years and want the style to be somewhat in date.

I tend to go for a more square frame as they suit me better

When I was recently in Spain, a lot of women had round frames. I've noticed that frame size is getting a bit larger as well. You don't have to decide right away; try some on, then bring a friend for advice. I have taken a photo of myself with the frames on, then take a photo of the number inside the frame for reference when I go back.

I love the look of aviator style, but they just don't suit me. I go for a version of rounded square every time.

Must have crossed posts; you have a round face... try on lots, including some aviator style! good luck.

I have a round face with chubby cheeks and recently got round glasses. I've had so many compliments on them, much more than I usually do. I wouldn't rule them out just because you think they won't suit you.

I have a square face, so I chose gold square glasses to make my face look better.
You can choose glasses based on your face shape.😎

I don't believe any glasses suit your face exactly. I always think any frame that's different to what i'm already wearing looks awful at first, and then I get used to them. I think I must have worn most shapes and both plastic and wire frames and, (apart from my National Health frames when I was 11) I've always ended up convinced that they 'suit me'.

My current frames are round and larger than I've worn for a while. It sounds like you want to avoid that shape but, as some posters have said, I wouldn't rule it out. Before these I'd worn various 'cats eye' frames for years and years - they're said to be the ophthalmic equivalent of a face lift (because of they turn up at the edges) and I thought I'd never get tired of them but, guess what, I did.

I'm not sure if there are any new trends but specs fashion doesn't change that quickly and any reasonably large optician should be able to tell you. The only way I can choose is to try on loads and loads over a period of months.

I have a saggy chubby face and cats eyes are the most flattering. I see quite a lot of people wearing heavier cats eye styles so they might be "in"? 🤷‍♀️

I went with this pair, comfy on and I think they suit me. I like the two tone effect.

I like those. Where are they from?

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 02/11/2024 19:11

I got them from vision express, They are Armani exchange so might be elsewhere.
