No 7 Pure Retinol Day Cream - help needed!

I've got a pot of the above but does anyone know which colour cream goes on first? I understand it's retinol first, allow to sink in then apply the SPF. There's just no indication as to which one is which. One side is white cream, the other is an orange-coloured serum. Boots website no help. Thanks.

Why would you have Retinol in a day cream? Isn't it affected by sun light so it's always used at night? 🤔

Exactly, retinol at night only

The orange is the retinol. If you look on Boots website one image shows which is which.

I’m still confused by this product and daytime use.
Boots website says :

For best results: Use every morning after applying your favourite No7 serum & eye cream. Step 1: Smooth the Retinol & Vitamin C Day Cream onto the face only with your fingertips. Step 2: Allow the day cream to completely absorb before applying the SPF.
