Hi all
I have a bit of a break for work for a few weeks and I want to do things to benefit myself whilst I have some time

I am already working on the health side in terms of diet, exercise, water, sleep, etc. Now, I would like to focus on the style and beauty side.

I already have hair highlighted and dyed regularly, whiten my teeth, and take some supplements. Have finally successfully sorted Contact lenses ( always squinting and losing my glasses). I also already use trentinol, luckily for me my skin seems quite tolerant. Use Suncream and moisturise whole body after shower. Do my own gel nails. My eye lashes are reasonable

Any other key suggestions please?

I don't do much else with skin care other than cleanse, basic moisturiser and the tret. I have seen comments re vit C serums, should I try this? Any other ideas for skin and eyes appreciated for my age group.

Any amazing supplements?

Eyebrows? I pluck them but not thinly and use a pencil. Anything good makeup wise in terms or colours or products?

Was also thinking about my style. Any particular brands that do well? I am 5 foot 3 so conscious of looking shorter! Perhaps a personal stylist session but I uses to occasionally do that in debenhams so not sure where would be good now

Thanks in advance!!!

Pretty much sounds like you have it all covered. Sorry, not helpful. Also, anyone I meet who has had a few weeks off work (myself included) always look better - less stress, more downtime, or being outdoors more maybe.

I’m about your height and pretty much never ‘conscious’ of anything at all in terms of shopping for clothes. The very occasional long frock, intended to skim my ankles, arrives and reveals itself to be floor length - but that’s only an issue if it’s knitted.

I’m also rather older than you and, while I’ve always been obsessed with clothes, I find that the closer I get to pensionable age, the more determined I am to build a wardrobe of clothes I want to have in my wardrobe for A Long Time.

Where do you shop now?

Botox!

BetsyRegards · 23/10/2024 20:57

Honestly?

I’ve been watching more TV than usual, and - I know it’s not an original thought, but - every single female face on screen, and a good proportion of the male faces too, is completely immobile. Acting is now a thing of the past - so AI may as well take all their jobs.

Beware, @sleepwouldbenice!

I'm 55 never had Botox as I have very few lines as a Goth I hide from the sun, however on Saturday I had tear troughs, marionette lines cheek fillers and have to say I look 10 years younger. Just fresher all round. I also had menopausal alopecia and have had a weave since last Feb. So much more confidence. Oh and on Mounjaro have lost 4 stone. Of course you might not have my faults to begin with, but that's me.

Wow, you go girl! I'm very tempted to have a tiny bit of lip filler as my top lip is rapidly receding.

Edited

I have botox and I don't look frozen at all. In fact I wish I looked a bit more frozen! I just look relaxed like I've come back from a holiday.

Hi thanks for your reply

With reference to our height I mean I have to go petite on my bottom half ( it's my legs that are short) and things like long dresses often swamp me and if I out weight on I can look short and round...

I am currently on vinted lots. I am conscious I usually wear either jeans or cropped jeans or black trousers. In summer I try to wear more dresses but little in winter. Good stylish brands for day and evening out wear for my age would be appreciated 🙂

Have thought about botox. Not sure if brave enough...maybe 🤔

Hence easier thoughts re serums etc

With clothes / footwear a good site to prompt a re-set would be

Collagerie

Brilliant curation of the best newness anywhere at every price point. Browse everything - it’s sure to lead you to countless brands you’re not currently familiar with (which you could then chase up either new or pre-owned).

Thanks will take a look!
