Another Meno Hair thread … sorry! Product recommendations pls

Sorry, it’s another ‘help, the menopause has wrecked my hair’ thread. Well, I assume that’s what’s wrecked my hair. It was always fine, maybe a bit flyaway, never ever frizzy. I have highlights, done maybe every 9 months. (Yep, the root growth looks appalling 🙄), they’re a sort of toffee colour so assume no bleach. So over the last 18 months, my hair has turned into a frizzy mess, bits sticking out in all directions and so so many broken hairs and just looks dry and in bad condtion. I wash it three times a week, hairdryer but no straighteners.

I’ve tried Olaplex 4 and 5, Ogyx Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner, Garnier Banana Hair Food, Pureology Leave in Conditioner for coloured hair, Elvive Dream Lengths and recently, Elvive Bond Repair. The latter calmed the frizz a bit for a few washes. Oh and am recently using Argan Oil Moroccan Tame and Shine cream which is calming the frizz a bit but not changing the condition of my hair.

What should I try next? I’ve read a stack of threads similar to this … Kerastase Gensis products are mentioned a few times but I want to spend wisely and am not 100% certain my hair type/problem fits their description… maybe it does? Please hit me with your recommendations ladies!

Even if you haven’t had a Brazilian blowout, the Brazilian Blowout Ionic Bonding Spray may help. I do straighten after I use this, though.

I have also found taking iron with vitamin C daily has really helped my hair growth. I overhauled my diet in June and on a daily basis am now eating leafy greens, cooking in olive oil, eating half an avocado and a small handful of almonds and walnuts and this has really made my hair thicken up. I needed those good fats to help my hair grow. My nails are also much stronger too.

Oooh haven’t come across that spray … will investigate - thank you. That’s actually really interesting about dietary changes and something I hadn’t thought about!

This happened to me, the only thing that worked was a soft water filter on the shower - my hair is back to normal. So weird.
