Any tips?

I bought a tub of the balm stuff as well.

Good luck. My docs are nearly forty years only and they’re still not broken in. I’m not even joking.

Mrsttcno1 · 22/10/2024 15:39

Wear them around the house for a few weeks with a pair (or 2) of thick fluffy socks on to break them in would be my advice!

They are fab shoes once they are broken in but wow they rip my feet to bits every time!

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 22/10/2024 15:44

Which ones did you get? I got the soft ones recently and didn't have to break them in at all.

dudsville · 22/10/2024 15:47

Ah, enjoy! I'm wearing the groucho shoes today. They didn't need breaking in.

BoobyDazzler · 22/10/2024 15:49

I can only wear the lighter DMs and the ones made of the soft leather. The hard leather ones are unbreakinable.

I’ve defected over to Fly London which are like wearing slippers and seem much better quality.

1460 Pascal

I tried on 10-12 different styles until I found which ones fit my orthotics and my awkward foot, and then had to choose between them. It was a toss-up between the ones with black flowers embroidered on the black leather, and the ones with the zips. Convenience won! But the soft leather boots - oh they felt gorgeous! And the colours! But, sadly, not the orthotics or the awkward foot.

Pascals break in easily. But I wear double layer running/hiking socks with my boots during the initial wears and those make a huge difference.
If in the future you want the ones with the roses, you can add a zip using these - https://www.tongueties.co.uk/ which are very convenient

I think the pascal ones are easier to bring than some of the stiffer ones. Thick bed type socks and just perseverance worked for me. I made sure I tried to wear them a bit every day but took spare comfy shoes until I broke them in. Took me about 3 weeks and mine are a stiffer leather.

Cover with a towel and beat the heels with a hammer. Wear two pairs of socks or thin socks over tights. Enjoy!

What a genius idea!

Lace them up properly.

Mine rub my heels if I don't fasten the laces tight enough.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/10/2024 17:44

The Pascal ones are wonderful - comfortable from the word go.

Aparecium · 25/10/2024 19:44

The Docs are so good. Really comfy - except in one place. The ankle so rigid that I cannot flex backwards (cannot point toes). Which means I have to wear the tops loose, otherwise I walk as though both my feet are in plaster and get bruised where the top of the boot digs in when I step forward. Which in turn means that my heels move up and down in the boots. Which will hurt.
