Invited to a black tie ball, very fancy celeb filled ball and I’m so out of my depth!

Size 10, would like it to be black - I have a large bust so nothing backless as need supportive bra!

Budget £150 ish

would like it to look classy, not too out there and feel great in it

Ask for recommendations, or do a Google search, for ball gown dress shops in your area. When it comes to ball gowns going in and trying on is the best way by a mile. Plus you usually book appointments for those shops so you get a dedicated staff member who will suggest dresses for you and help get in them etc. It's almost like going wedding dress shopping...

Phase eight, quiz, Roman, Ghost are some 'high street' stores you could try and you can often find them on places like Debenhams website or John Lewis
I've also found Ever Pretty to have some nice dresses but I think they're online only

With that brief for that money I'd rent or look for 2nd hand.

Black tie wouldn’t usually be actual ball gown… have you checked out photos of the event in previous years?

Rental. Go to your local dress hire place. They will have a wide range to choose from, will tailor it to fit you properly and can help with accessories. Make sure you wear the foundation garments you want when you go and take a pair of shoes with heels at the correct height.
