Black every /all day sneakers

I'm mid wardrobe transition and realise that a pair of comfortable black sneakers would be useful. All my trainers are for actual running so I'm boggled by choice. Any recommendations? Would like to wear them with jeans, wide leg trousers, long skirts, etc.

For comfort and day to day life sketchers are the way to go. They are so comfortable, they aren’t expensive, they wash well.

I bought these recently to walk to the office. Only two miles a day but I need proper support as I’ve got a dodgy Achilles tendon.

They’re comfortable and supportive. I change into my work shoes when I get there.

I thought they were a bit expensive (£100), but fitted the all black not too blingy criteria.

Vans, every time.

Much comfier than converse and go with everything.

I like the filmore or filmore decon which are slightly less cushioned but arguably a little smarter.

Are we saying sneakers now? I think that's that for me. I'm off with the dolphins.

RainbowSlidders · 19/10/2024 15:29

@Contigo what are those Sketchers called please?

Contigo · 19/10/2024 15:42

Sorry, I can’t work out how to link on Amazon through the app @RainbowSlidders - Skechers Women's Tres-air Uno Sneaker. I bought them from Amazon as they had coloured soles everywhere else.

RainbowSlidders · 19/10/2024 15:58

Thank you @Contigo

Do you find these last ok?
I got Skechers Uno in January and the soles are smooth and worn through.

I’ve only had them four weeks @NunyaBeeswax no wear yet but I bet I’ve only walked 20 miles in them. I only bought them for the walking part of my journey to work twice a week.

For summer, I love Toms! Not ideal in winter sadly as your feet will get soaked, but I live in Toms in the summer. I am a bit obsessed with them though and have about 30 pairs 😂 I have standard Adidas Courts for winter which I love and are great with jeans. I’m 42 so can’t be wearing some of these fashionable brand ones, and converse absolutely rip my feet to shreds 😭

Oo hope they do you well then 😁

Nike Air max and air Jordans, Rieker & Sketchers are good if you need support.
I developed plantar fascitis a few years ago so have avoided new balance since then. It depends on your feet so you probably need to try a few on

TeaHagTeaBag · 19/10/2024 22:08

Lots of ideas, thanks! I really like the Margaret Howells but not sure I want to spend quite that much.

I was out and about today and tried on six different pairs. Didn't love any of them unfortunately. I'll keep looking.

I love On Cloud. I have the pearl (not waterproof) & black (waterproof). Comfy immediately & look great.

+1 for Skechers. I hate shopping for trainers/sneakers because most of them seemed to be designed to shout "Look at my feet", which I don't want. The shelves at Skechers are very boring, the way I like it.

MayaPinion · 20/10/2024 13:20

How about these?
