Velvet suit what to wear with it?

Sainsbury’s had 25% off so I bought this today. I like it, but don’t really have much of a clue what to wear with it?

I wondered about the same colour blouse, would that be too much?

Watching as I bought the exact same one! Going to wear it for a black tie do as I don't do dresses...

Mm I covet a velvet suit, but sadly have no occasion to wear one. I would totally go for the same colour blouse, I think full tonal looks great with this kind of outfit.

I agree. Nothing. A blouse or shirt will be too fussy. As someone else said, how on earth did they do it at that price. Looks far more expensive.

Silk vest - neutral colour or nearly the colour of the suit

This. I like the idea of just a bra underneath but would want to be able to take off the jacket.

It’s made of polyester, that’s how they do it at that price. It’s not cotton velvet.

Well, I can see that, @Osco - but there are a million other polyester velvet trouser suits that don’t cost essentially pennies.

I’d be curious to see what it looks like in real life. The reviews are inconclusive, though I’m inclined to believe the people noticing that the lapels and hem don’t quite sit right. What do you think, @Queezee?

I never think a V neck under a jacket with a V neck looks quite right - I’d suggest a silky vest with a round neck or a camisole which goes straight across the upper chest. Could do black, cream, or a contrasting bright like emerald or peacock blue.

The lapels are a bit off for want of a better word but a tiny invisible stitch will sort it. It’s because the fabric has a stretch I think.

I’ve big boobs so try to avoid high necks but that cos colour is gorgeous

Been through all your suggestions and think you’re right, a simple cami or vest will be best. No way dare I wear a bra - well not my usual bras!

Yes I thought this as well. Then I would go for same tone earrings and necklace. Velvet can be very warm, so good to have the option of taking off jacket if you need to at some point. Looks very nice👍

I am musing on jewellery to go with that suit. Contemporary pearls would be nice. Nothing too fussy, but long earrings if you like them. You can get pink Jasper as well if you want tonal…..🤔 I love getting a new outfit🥰
