Found this mango jacket /coat on vinted for £5 new with tags
Absolutely love it
Tried it on and fits like a dream
Great quality
A few friends have said it's too bright for autumn /winter
I obviously wouldn't wear it when it's freezing /raining etc
Just a cold day with a nice chunky scarf
Jumper under etc
It's a bright pink /red colour

Or do you think it's too bright ?

Of course it's not! All the better in the grim, dark winter.

SnapdragonToadflax · 18/10/2024 11:51

Eh? Too bright for what? Red is a perfectly normal winter coat colour.

It's a nice coat, wear it if you like it.

Pixilicious1 · 18/10/2024 11:51

No it’s lovely. Wear it and who cares what your friends say!

FionnulaTheCooler · 18/10/2024 11:52

I think it's nice. I always buy my teenage DD a bright coloured coat for winter so she will be safer walking to the bus stop on the darker mornings.

onetreefill · 18/10/2024 11:53

It's deffo more pink in real life than red but I still love it

Your friends are insane! Enjoy your coat, OP - it's a bobby dazzler.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 18/10/2024 11:54

Bright coats are much better in winter!!!
It's lovely!
I never understand when people trudge around in black and grey when everything around is grey because of the weather!

Nomoredamnmats · 18/10/2024 11:54

It’s absolutely gorgeous! Go for it.

autumngirlxo · 18/10/2024 11:54

I didn't know there was a rule on what tone of colours you can wear in autumn!? I'm gobsmacked😉
Joking.
Wear it! If you love it, WEAR IT! You might even cheer up the people who suffer from SAD, who are fed up of the dullness already!
Do you and forget your friends, not their wardrobe, not their problem!😊

Waterboatlass · 18/10/2024 11:55

Love bright coats for a/w!

McCauslandOnSpeeddial · 18/10/2024 11:55

I'm not sure what your friends are thinking. It's eye catching of course but a perfectly good colour for winter. It's a carol-service/nativity play/scuffing through the leaves classic.

JaninaDuszejko · 18/10/2024 11:55

It's gorgeous. What's with this thing about only wearing certain colours at specified times of the year. Ignore and enjoy your beautiful bargain coat.

soupfiend · 18/10/2024 11:58

I thought this was going to be that bright tarten coat that people were posting about a year or so ago. Cant remember where from now

Purplecatshopaholic · 18/10/2024 12:02

You love it. It’s great quality. It cost a fiver. Reds a great winter colour. Enjoy your new coat!

EmeraldIsla · 18/10/2024 12:05

Of course it's not - love seeing a bit of cheer instead of dull colours in winter.

Zebracat · 18/10/2024 12:10

I have a bright orange coat. It’s the only item I have ever had that people stop me in the street to ask about. It cheers me up and makes people smile. Wear the coat.

wateraddict · 18/10/2024 13:00

It's perfect, you love it, plus a bargain to boot! I love my red coats - I also got a red Vinted win for £12 last month so go for it and love it. Wouldn't it be boring if we didn't mix it up a bit? Enjoy your purchase and wear it with pride.

StarlightLady · 18/10/2024 16:19

This coat brightens up winter!

BigDahliaFan · 18/10/2024 16:21

It's a little bit hunting jacket for me .... but very Christmassy...

Just don't accessorize with a pack of hounds...

Rowansiskin · 18/10/2024 16:25

Not too bright at all! I have a fabulous orange winter coat

BirthdayRainbow · 18/10/2024 16:33

Of course not. What with the seasons not being sentient beings..

NeverDropYourMooncup · 18/10/2024 16:35

When the Autumn sunlight hits it, it is going to glow and bathe your face in light and brightness when everything else is brown.

When it's dull and cold, the warmth of the colour is going to glow and make you look warm and healthy and cheerful.

It's a perfect Autumn-Winter coat.

MinaHarker1897 · 18/10/2024 16:43

Something about red coats in cold weather make you feel warmer. Maybe it is something to do with Father Christmas!

StormingNorman · 18/10/2024 16:47

Absolutely love it! Your friends are wrong.

Precipice · 18/10/2024 16:48

Another ??? on the concept of 'too bright' for a particular season.

If anything, you want brighter colours in grim weather, as you'll be easier to see in conditions with poorer visibility, which is safer for you.
