Hair straighteners recommendations

I have LOVED my GHDs for many years but now need new straighteners. I’ve heard the current GHDs aren’t as good as they used to be, can anyone confirm? I’ve also seen Cloud Nine one online but don’t know anyone who has used them. I want super straight hair which lasts all day. My GHDs have given me that but they are so very old now they need replacing. I want my new ones to be great but also last many years like my current ones have. Has anyone got any suggestions? My hair is wavy.

Just bought some slim Cloud 9s after staying in a hotel that had Cloud 9s in their gym.
i have used GHDs in my gym (admittedly probably quite old and used a lot) and I found the Cloud 9s far superior. Am loving mine, heat up really quickly and very easy to use. Great results and the reaults last days. My colleagues have asked if I sleep sitting up since getting them as they can’t believe my hair remains so straight for days after the initial use!

I replaced my ghds with cloud 9s probably at least 5 years ago - maybe more. They are like the proper original ghds ie completely brilliant (I have the wide ones as have long, thick hair).

Another vote for Cloud 9 wide plates. I have long thick hair and it's the first time straighneing my hair before work is actually achievable (from a time perspective).

I bought cloud 9 two weeks ago and think they are rubbish. The cord is really short, the plates feel like they are pulling my hair and my hair doesn't stay straight all day. I previously had corioliss ones that were amazing -!: had lasted thirteen years.

I bought a cheap Remington plate from Argos for £30 and they are great. The cloud 9 were £150, total rip off.

I am another cloud 9 convert. Loved my GHDs but love cloud 9s even more. I have fine, wavy hair.

It was the cloud nine wide plates that I liked the look of, so thank you for all your replies! So very helpful!

Panasonic EH HS99. The hairdryer is amazing too.

Used to always have ghds I switched to the wide plate cloud 9's and absolutely love them. Straightens my long hair in half the time and it stays straight and sleek until I was it again. Always fantastic for making loose curls

Loose curls would be ideal too- think it’s probably going to have to be the cloud nine wide iron!
