..would you wear a short black dress that was a bit sexy but not that interesting OR a full length vintage number in a big print that was quirky but not revealing (kind of close cut chinese sixties style)

Depends what the awards were for. For example if they were law/accountancy/investment type things I would go for the black one. If it was for a less stuffy profession, the quirky one.

cod vintage is more than just old - old would mean it's my old frock.
I'm going with the vintage with high heels and a hopefully a good blow dry. Very excited.
