Dd's Christening - help me to choose an outfit pleeeeeeeeeeease

I need a new outfit for my dd3's Christening (just under 3 weeks time) and i have no idea what to get!

I'm overweight (although just lost my first stone at ww - yay me!) and am a size 16/18 possibly more 16 than 18.

I hate the top of my arms, my belly, hips and arse and my knees (in fact theres not much that i do like ). I also have very large boobs and don't want to emphasise them either.

Would prefer black (or is that a big no-no for a Christening?)

Am i a lost cause? Any style gurus who think they can take the challenge and help me to find something?

black frock

provides the level of camouflage requested. they've only got it in 18 tho, not 16.

TillyScoutsmum · 23/04/2008 13:31

black dress

with a vest underneath if it flashes too much clevage

TillyScoutsmum · 23/04/2008 13:32

lovely

meep · 23/04/2008 13:36

you sound the same sort of size to me - wit teh same bits that you hate

What about this - it could float flatteringly over your tummy?

I always go for smart black trousers and a nice top - I will look to see if I can find any nice ones

oops - try again:

top

top

or skirt

Tilly - the first top is lovely! I need to get me to Coast (hopefully I don't know Bluenose in RL or we could be matching!)

bluenosesaint · 23/04/2008 13:45

Great ideas - thanks everyone

I do quite fancy a dress, but none of the links quite fit the bill somehow, sorry

I love the raspberry coast top tilly, maybe with the trousers, mmmmm ...i think i'd feel safer somehow in trousers ...

I like that black frock Perkin, but not quite sure on the fabric - would jersey not cling to all my many lumps and bumps?

LOL meep - you understand then, yes

I've got that top (I'm a 14-16 on top) and its very flattering and goes with loads of stuff. Charcoal grey trousers would be lovely with some highish sandals/wedges
