What would you wear with this skirt?

Interested mainly in what colours you'd wear with it, but also footwear/legs/type of top.

I usually wear sportswear or jeans and a basic T-shirt but need to go to a day time (Sunday) concert at DC's school soon so think I should be smart casual. I assume it'll be cold in the hall so will need a warm layer too.

bootwise I have black DM's or slightly less clunky brown winter boots, or black trainers (with a streak of yellow/pink).

Of course, adding some photos would be useful 😳

However, if you add thick tights and a soft, loose cut jumper, you might be able to take the edge off the Year 9 pushing the skirt length rule aesthetic.

Slightly depends on the culture of your school!

Older parents and smart school - dark straight jeans and a Chanel-alike cardigan jacket or a huge cashmere roll neck in a neutral colour, with loafers, would be more the thing.

Younger parents and less hoity-toity school - you could probably wear your skirt and DMs with thick opaque tights and maybe a long knitted cardigan coat or jumper. Like this:
