I don't allow myself on the Free People website anymore 😂 tbh I do feel like there a bit of a disconnect between the free-spirited hippie image they project and the frankly extortionate price tags. I had assumed it was because all their clothes were super ethical etc. but apparently that’s not the case.

I bought it in that colour and the blue but sent that colour back as it looked dirty! The blue is lovely. My sister has it in cream but it is a bit of a weird cut and not as nice a fit as my blue one. I didn't try on the one you like as I decided I didn't like the colour because it looked dirty so I don't know what the fit was like on that one.

I do find that with Free People, the same items in different colour ways are not the same cut.

My original thought was also "well that's what you've got to pay for ethically produced clothes". Then I checked their website, and realised that they're just an offshoot of Urban Outfitters with a slightly hippyish West Coast brand.

I suspect that you and I were both confusing it with People Tree, the ethical clothes guys who went bust last year.

Free people's quality is awful. They do have sales quite abit though.

Depends on the item. I've bought a lot from there and had some great quality things, some OK things and yeah, a few shockers. But definitely wouldn't blanket say the quality is awful.

They have a very busy review system on most items that's really useful for sizing and quality issues

I love Free People & find the quality fine.
I have several pairs of Osaka Jeans/Cords & lots of their thermals. I've also bought Free People Cashmere & bralettes for my eldest DD on eBay & she's really liked them.
Their Summer Sale was brilliant.

The main issue is their sizing is bonkers!

Yeah I lived in Roll With It thermals last winter. Looking forward to getting them out again when it gets cooler. I nabbed a couple of Schoolboy cashmere cardis in the sale and love them too

Amazon quite often do Free People dupes - it’s not great fabrics but neither is Free People (I like Free People but they’re not much better composition wise than the rest of the high street.)

@HadlowLandscapes I'm only 5 ft 3, so tend to wear them on my waist. On the Free People website they're generally worn pretty slouchily. The sizing's so variable & varies even when labelled the same. But I would probably try the smaller size first.

The Amazon one says it's "100% Polyester" but also that it is "ribbed cotton fabrication". Can't be both.

It looks identical to the considerably more expensive one on the Free People site (which says "97% Cotton, 3% Elastane).
