won't they fall off with tights?

don't they rely on friction?

what about these in brown (funny website so can't do a link): Clarks: Cuban Heels. You get a cheaper version in New Look www.newlook.co.uk/1336370/133637018/ProductDetails.aspx

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 23/04/2008 10:14

I need shoes too. I always need shoes and I always need advice on shoes as I have No Idea.

Haven't we been here before Capp? I seem to remember our shoe choices being vilified in the past. Or was if just mine?

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 23/04/2008 10:15

meep - how can they say those have a 'low' heel? [befuddled]

Cappuccino · 23/04/2008 10:16

I like meep's ones

I don't think we have done shoes before saggars. We did vests, iirc

OP posts:
meep · 23/04/2008 10:17

oops - didn't realise it was low heel - the ones I got are actually a bit lower and very comfy - but I am a shortarse who thinks 2" heels are low and comfy!

Cappuccino · 23/04/2008 10:18

I do like a lot of Clarks shoes but I worry that I am elderly and unexciting

OP posts:
meep · 23/04/2008 10:20

how about purple?
jones

sophierosie · 23/04/2008 10:20

How about these? They have a lowish heel and would also look cute with jeans.

hippipotami · 23/04/2008 10:23

I seriously considered some yesterday. Even tried them on and everything. Then in a moment of clarity I realised they were the EXACT style and type of shoe my stepMIL wears.

So I quickly put them back and came home shoe-less...

Can't have heels, am 6ft1 already, and flat comfy shoes can look a bit frumpy...

Have wide feet too, and am a size 8.

Am doomed, aren't I??

hippipotami · 23/04/2008 10:24

Some Clarks shoes that should say

Cappuccino · 23/04/2008 10:25

sophie that heel is not low for me

unless it is wedge boot

go gentler

nothing wrong with Clarks - if you choose well no-one will know! Alas when pregnant I had to resort to a fetching pair of velcro sandals to wear with my work suit (puffy feet nonsense) - my fellow shoe-aholic work friend said it put her off ever getting pregnant if there was the possibility of having to wear disgusting shoes like that!

Cappucino - go with some type of MaryJanes in a nice brown - goes with jeans and smarter troos and you can wear tights

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/04/2008 10:26

hippi - it sounds like we are feet twins, it's a bummer isn't it?!

I will be watching this thread with interest.

Cappuccino · 23/04/2008 10:27

yes yes ok maryjanes

will do

OP posts:
MamaG · 23/04/2008 10:28

I love mary janes

sophierosie · 23/04/2008 10:31

Ok, I have just bought these and they are super comfy as have slightly padded insole!

Hassled · 23/04/2008 10:31

I bought some of these from Debenhams - to be honest none too comfy but they fit my jeans/skirt/school run criteria.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 23/04/2008 10:32

Oh yes Capp we did vests. It must be someone else on MN who shares my poor taste in shoes.

Monkeybird · 23/04/2008 10:37

hippo, did you know duo (of wide calf boots fame) also do wide fit shoes that are quite fashion conscious...? here

swedishmum · 23/04/2008 10:39

I'm with hippi on this one as well - though I'm only 5'9 1/2". I feel so big and clumpy in high shoes for every day, so at the moment wear only flat boots or converse. I like to think I look arty with converse and smart trousers (we live in the sticks) but really I just look as though I haven't got any decent shoes. New brown shoes are on my list for today but all the shoes I like don't fit my lifestyle - or feet.
