serum for frizzy, menopausal, dry hair

My hair has always been wavy - not curly, and tending to the frizz in certain weather, Since hitting the peri/menopausal years my hair is thinning, very frizzy and dry!

I had my hair straightened for a job recently, I try not to use hair dryer or straighteners as I feel they ruin my hair even further. The stylist used some kind of serum on my hair to smooth it down and tackle the frizz and it did work quite well. She told me the name of it (which I promptly forgot) but she did say it wasn't expensive.

Any recommendations?

I'd call the salon and ask them. I did that not so long ago after the stylist used a really good serum/heat protection spray on my hair and I realised it made my hair the loveliest.

The product is Goldwell Just Smooth thermal spray serum by the way!

I have very frizzy hair and have tried loads of products. The only thing that works is this, which my hairdresser uses on me. She puts it on damp towel dried hair and then blow dries it. I use it at home in the same way, on damp hair before styling with a hot brush. A little goes a long way shop.toniandguy.com/products/labelm-anti-frizz-smoothing-balm-lcrab0150?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADyTJbQ5ahPERWiLKbroMz_DXHQjf&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsJO4BhDoARIsADDv4vBwWw84hMwGh_WN3SExIijXwiv2uKeO6Fi797lG6zUVnt9QHqz42BYaAiAREALw_wcB

Morrocon oil smoothing lotion, use a small pint on damp hair and then after drying a small amount smoothed over . Fantastic stuff. Look on Amazon, about a tenner a tube and it lasts ages as you only need a small amount.

Ouai hair oil. Far and away the best and delicious scent. Sell a mini/ travel sized one in John Lewis you could try out. I’ve had amazing results using that after styling on dry ends. I use Olaplex serum pre styling. Leaves smooth shiny hair. Really good conditioner combed through hair and left few mins pre rinsing too. This is all backwards I realise - order obviously wash and conditioner, olaplex pre drying then oil!

Yes, just call the salon and ask them - 9/10 they will even sell you whatever it is that they're using. If it works for you, that's a win right there. Especially if your hair is thinning a bit so it can be hard to get it right.

I'm using a Pantene one with Keratin which is working really well, but my hair is very thick so it might not be good for you.
