What colour jumper with black leather skirt?

Looking to invest into cashmere v neck jumper to wear with my pencil leather skirt, just below the knee. Should I go for safe black or neutral or another colour, what would look most chic?

Personally I would always go for a block colour - black, grey, charcoal are safe or you could go for red/burgundy or pink, after all anything goes with black! Definitely a jumper ,possibly polo neck, but only one colour as the skirt is the statement piece. Definitely on the right lines with a cashmere jumper, you should avoid satin/silk blouses.

I’d go classy, neutral. So charcoal, lighter grey, maybe cream. Burgundy is big just now. Nothing too bright, which will cheapen the look.

It depends on what colours suit you. My first though was rust or burnt orange. AKA my favourite top.

Trinny (who, whatever you might think of her, has worn and bought and thought about a LOT of clothing) reckons black 'kills' colours. Navy always looks better with red or green than black, for example. So I would follow PPs who suggest a neutral like charcoal grey or a tweedy sort of yarn.

I think the palest pink would be nice. But a lot of colours go well with black. Pale lilac or pale blue would be nice too.

I wore mine with an off-white cashmere polo neck today.

Yes, white is always good with black and a cashmere polo is a good choice.
