Look great in underwear, terrible in a bikini - help

Just that really. I’m in good shape. Size 6 (but 5”1 so not that thin), exercise every day. Had my boobs done after my youngest was born, although they’re not huge. They need a push up to have any cleavage as they’re quite far apart, although obviously round and perky.

Carry my weight on my bottom half, big bottom and thighs, although they’re fairly toned. Flat tummy but a bit of wrinkly skin from having my boys.

I feel great in nice lingerie but find it so hard to find a bikini that I look decent in, and I can’t work out why that is.

I like to look ‘sexy’ but for some reason that never happens with a bikini.

Triangle bikinis look dreadful, I find the ones with some push up are very mumsy and basically every style of bottoms look awful l. The tie up ones feel like they sag, I’m not tall enough for high waisted.

I’m not looking to hide any bits of me that I don’t like, I’m fairly body confident, but for some reason every bikini makes me look like I’ve never stepped foot in a gym.

Anyone work in swimwear sales or design and have any idea what I should be looking for??

What sort of underwear do you feel good in? Can you try and replicate that?

I would usually wear a push up bra and thong. It never actually occurred to me to find a similar style in bikinis but that’s a great idea. I’ve never worn a thong bikini to be honest but maybe worth trying. Not sure if that’s
obscene!

This is for a friend’s hen do trip though. Wouldn’t wear it on a family holiday.

I’m similar height and was the same size, sea folly is really flattering on me.

Thanks will take a look!

I wear mid rise bottoms and a bra sized top. I buy separates from belle lingerie. They sell all sorts of sizes and styles of bikini and you can mix and match

StarlightLady · 07/10/2024 09:52

l expect you would be best looking for separates. On line, try searching for push up tops and the bottoms available should also show. If this doesn’t come up with anything search on thong bikini bottoms and/or Brazilian bottoms.

Places to look could range from Amazon to Selfridges depending on budget and it’s worth looking at the likes of Cupshe, Debenhams, Ann Summers and even New Look for those in between.
