Too much footwear?

Confessions from the footwear addicted please!
Ive just had a huge clear out - 2 bags to charity shop and 2 in rubbish
Packed away all my sandals but I still have 6 pairs of trainers, 7 knee length boots of which 2-3 don’t fit at moment due to weight gain
Not counted but around 15 pairs of ankle or calf length boots, similar of high heels, same again low heels and around 20-30 flat shoes including pointed pumps and brogues (again some are too tight but I don’t want to get rid of as they are designer)
Estimate 90-100 not including sandals
Its a good job I don’t have a similar handbag habit - although could do to sell a few I no longer use
How about you?

I currently have access to one pair flat ankle boots., a pair of sandals and a pair of walking boots. I do have a few more but they're packed away.

One pair each of -
Trainers
Walking boots
Decent boots
Wellies
Hideous croc-type gardening shoes made from injection moulded plastic.
Sandals.
Smarter sandals (i.e. the pair that have not been ruined by gardening in them when I can't bring myself to wear my hideous gardening shoes.)
Slippers that are the bedroom version on the gardening shoes.

That's it.

honestasever · 06/10/2024 20:38

I’m not including what I need for exercise and work.

6 pairs sandals
3 x ankle boots
4 pairs calf boots
1 knee length
6 pairs trainers
6 pairs sandals/shoes with a high heel that I never wear!

JaceLancs · 06/10/2024 20:53

Thank you!
I suppose I did know I was being unreasonable!
In my defence I used to think footwear didn’t make me feel ‘fat’ until I went up 1/2 a size due to weight gain!!!

I pair knee length boots. 5 pairs calf/ankle boots. Walking boots. Good trainers. Crap trainers. Canvas trainers x2. 4 pairs of trainer type shoes, 3 of which I never wear. Green velvet flats, unworn, small heeled Mary Janes and patent Hamble oaks, unworn for 5 years . Lots of sandals, rarely worn. Birkenstocks, worn out
Much less than you, op, but they take up so much space. I should definitely have a cull.

dudsville · 07/10/2024 08:58

Wow, and that's after your clear out?!! Do you have a dedicated shoe room? I used to have a lot of shoes, but I simplified my wardrobe a few years back. I have 4 boots, 2 shoes, 2 clogs, 4 sandals, 3 loafers. I have 2 pairs of trainers for the gym.

chalkyc2 · 07/10/2024 09:12

Placemarking - I'll be back after work but I have a big problem and this is also after a clear out to charity/vinted. I actually have 2 pairs of boots on order.

Storage is an issue!

Matildahoney · 07/10/2024 09:32

I have 100 pairs of trainers, and probably around another 100 pairs of boots, heels, flats, and I have regular clear outs.

GameOfJones · 07/10/2024 09:33

I am guilty of keeping lots of pairs that I don't actually wear! I do need a clearout. I have:

1 pair of knee length boots

6 pairs of ankle boots (3 of those I never wear)

5 pairs of smart trainers (2 of those I hardly ever wear)

4 pairs of scruffy trainers (I do wear these, I keep one pair at home for going to the gym, one pair at work for walks at lunchtime and a pair in each of the cars for muddy walks)

6 pairs of sandals (4 of those I never wear)

1 pair of walking boots

1 pair of wellies (never wear)

2 pairs of crocs (I only ever wear 1 pair for gardening)

3 pairs of slippers (I only really wear 2 of them)

1 pair of mary jane style heeled shoes (wear very rarely)

1 pair of wedges (ditto)

1 pair of stiletto heels (never wear)

Probably some others that I've forgotten about too!

henlake7 · 07/10/2024 09:43

1 pair knee high boots
3 ankle boots (inc snowboots)
1 pair wellies
3 hi top trainers
7 low top trainers (mostly rocket dog jazzin)
1 ugg dupe
2 birkie dupes
2 ballet flats
3 pairs of slippers (sliders, mules, boots)

That sounds alot but TBH I have more on my list!😊
