What shows would I wear with this skirt?

I like this skirt https://www.marksandspencer.com/leather-look-pleated-midaxi-a-line-skirt/p/clp60706382?intid=mobileapp from M&S. I’d wear it with a white shirt, tucked in, similar to the model in the photo.

But I don’t like the shoes she’s wearing at all. I can’t wear long boots as I have really awkwardly shaped feet (wide and bunions on both) and simply can’t get my feet into them. I’d probably wear it out to drinks or dinner.

What shoes would you wear?

Shoes! I give up.

It doesn’t look right with her shoes because it’s a heavy fabric and her shoes are too delicate with the strap and kitten heel. A block heel pointed shoe would look better for more formal / office style. Or a biker boot to go chunky informal.

I wouldn’t do the white shirt with biker boots though, I’d go jumper or black T-shirt/band T-shirt.

I’ve got a pleated leather skirt and I get loads of wear out of it.

I'd wear it with a Chelsea boot. And the white shirt is good. I'd probably wear it with a a black sleeveless t and a big chunky chain.

@IsItOnTheTrolleyCanYouSeeIt what sort of shoes / trainers are you wearing with other outfits? Maybe we can suggest something in a style you know works for you :)

I wear either trainers or suede lace up ankle boots with a small heel (has to be suede as it gives more than leather on my bunions, and I can leave the laces near my bunions looser and tighten them around my ankle) pretty much all the time.

A loafer would look a lot more modern than those awful slingbacks

I agree a boot, you could wear knee high boots with a block heel in grey/taupe/black. You can also get lace up suede ‘boots’ which have an open toe. I have some which come to my ankle and have a block heel, open toe and open part on the heel. Really comfortable but look dressy.

Loafers would look terrible with that skirt.

I like the contrast of the heavy material of the skirt with the delicate shoes.

Vogue and other style websites don't agree with you that slingbacks aren't modern.
