What to wear for night out?

45 year old size 12 and going out tomorrow with some people who always seem so trendy. Had no time this week to think about what to wear and now panicking. I can pick something up tomorrow if it's high street. What would you wear for nice bars and a restaurant?

I'm sorry you haven't had any replies but your question is a bit "how long is a piece of string"?

It's just personal taste. I'm going out tonight and will probably wear a dress from Palava- but that's no help if you don't like that type of dress.

my lates thrash to death outfit, is barrel jeans, flat boots, white tshirt and a red patterned hippyish quilted jacket. Heaps of silver jewellery.

feel very fabulous in it. Keep it simple and have one standout item

If it’s me going out I’d either pick an old Massimo Dutti long sleeved merino top (has slight ruffles around neckline and cuffs) or vintage silk dusky pink top or Whistles long sleeved floral with gold bits dobby top. Any of these should do:-

What do you feel comfortable in?

My style is very casual but I’m out tonight & wearing black trousers, embellished ballet pumps, either a body style top or sleeveless knit. Undecided and depends what jacket I decide on.

I also find that you’re either Cos or &other stories not both though I’ve had the odd bit from Cos and have bought more from &other stories, though when they were cheaper.

It sounds nice but is a certain look. I can’t wear plain white t shirts and aside from trainers I prefer a small heel for going out. Unless it were a real statement shoe like M&S Sienna Miller cowboy boot shoe which sold out quickly.

the “tshirt” is not a tshirt tshirt, more of a loose linen tshirt style top

I have a leopard print maxi skirt, but it's more like a clouded leopard so not quite so in your face, I've bought a cream thick knit jumper and will wear it with black ankle boots

That’s very pretty. I wouldn’t belt it either. I have a red and white jacquard jacket from Zara (old) that’s sort of similar to this.
