Where can I buy my wedding dress?

I'm getting married next year and a few months ago I found a dress I really liked on Asos, it was under 200 quid and very pretty, a bit bohemian, but now it's gone!

My wedding is going to be a fairly chill affair, so I'm not really looking for anything above 300, maybe 400 quid max (as it's the father of the bride paying :)) but I now don't really know where to look. I've had a look on Monsoon and there are some lovely options, I've also looked at Hope and Ivy. Are there any other online shops I should look at?

I'll potentially be pregnant on the day, potentially 6+ months, not sure. Maybe that makes a difference, but I'm not looking for anything tight fitting regardless, I much prefer the flowy boho look anyway.

Any other websites other than Monsoon and Hope & Ivy, of similar style?

Wolf and Badger
Debenhams have loads of brands, might be easier to look on their website.

If you're going to be pregnant you're better off waiting until nearer the time. Your body shape changes massively by that stage.

I agree with this. It's mad to buy a dress now if you're TTC and have no idea what stage of pregnancy you might be at and what will and won't fit.

Or you could buy a maternity dress like this one

Look for the dress second hand. Vinted Preloved etc

Meadowflower2023 · 04/10/2024 20:46

Could you post a pic of it or something similar? I got mine from ASOS (also boho style) 2 years ago but got the wrong size so sold it on eBay and ordered a smaller one. Have you checked there or Vinted?

Wed2Be have some great options

Alongthepineconetrail · 04/10/2024 20:55

Can you not hold off ttc until after the wedding to give you more dress options? There's no way I would have wanted to be heavily pregnant on my wedding day. I want to enjoy it and have fun, I'd have been restricted if I was pregnant. Definitely try for children after the wedding day.

Definitely worth keeping an eye out for that dress secondhand. That’s exactly how I found mine - found the perfect one, prevaricated until it was out of stock, found it for sale secondhand! Might be worth looking for it in a size up so you can have it tailored nearer to the time if you’re pregnant.

Thank you for all the recommendations!!

Not looking to purchase anything just yet as I won't know what size I'll be, but I don't want to do it in a panic the month before, so would like to get some ideas now. Definitely not putting off TTC just for a dress, we've been trying for 2 years and all we want is a baby, so not an option.

Didn't think of Needle and Thread, nor Debenhams! Will also look on John Lewis thank you! How exciting!
